Step 1.

To set up a SMART VALOR account, sign up using the sign-up form here. 


Step 2.

Once you have signed up and verified your email address, login to your account and proceed to complete your KYC verification. This process can take anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes. Here you will be required to provide the following: 


A). Personal Information

Here, you are required to give basic information about yourself. This includes your name, address, country of residence, citizenship and phone number. You are required to provide information to perform Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks. This is to prove that you are who you claim to be and not participating on behalf of someone or indulged in fraud. 


B). ID/Person Verification

During this step, you are required to verify your identity. It is important that you have a government-issued ID document ready during this step. This is followed by a selfie-check to verify your identity with your ID document.


c). Additional Information for level upgrades

You will be asked to upload a proof of address, proof of funds or source of wealth depending on the level you seek to upgrade to.


For the Silver level, the following documents are valid proofs of address:

o Utility bill (gas, electric, satellite television, landline phone bill) issued within the last three months
o Local authority council tax bill for the current council tax year
o Bank, Building Society or Credit Union statement or passbook dated within the last three months
o Original mortgage statement from a recognized lender issued for the last full year
o Solicitors letter within the last three months confirming recent house purchase or land registry confirmation of address
o Electoral Register entry



 

Please note: 

  • Once you have successfully completed your KYC information, your data will be sent to compliance for reviewal. This reviewal process can take anywhere from 1 to 3 business days depending on the information submitted.  
  •  You will receive an email letting you know if your verification has been approved or rejected.  If rejected, you may request to re-do the process again. To request this please email support@smartvalor.com  
  •  Once approved, you can begin transacting on SMART VALOR.
